I just purchased the last volume that I needed to complete the Talmud Bavli תלמוד בבלי produced by Artscroll the English version of the Schottenstein edition. I have been collecting the volumes for a few years now I have all 72 volumes. I couldn’t be more excited.

I have just finished studying the book of Ruth ספר רות in the Tanach תנ״ך. Now I am studying the Midrash Rabbah מדרש רבה on the book of Ruth ספר רות. FYI it's a lot longer and more comprehensive then the text in the Tanach תנ״ך.

The Midrash Says

I just purchased the set of books called "The Midrash Says" and I began reading starting with the weekly Torah portion which is the first portion of the book of Deuteronomy Devarim דברים. I found the series of books to be very interesting as the stories in the book are more current and can be related to easily. I will be doing this for each weekly Torah portion as we cycle through the Torah during the year.

What is this that I keep posting about

People have asked me "what is this that I have been posting over the past few months?" I am studying the Bible starting from the beginning. I start a typical day with reading one of the 613 commandments 1 per day. Then I read from the text of the Bible with the commentary of Rashi רש״י. I follow that up by reading the Midrash Rabbah portion covering the Bible text I just read. Sometimes that effort takes a few days. Then I reread the Bible text with the commentary of the Ramban  I find this gives me a well rounded perspective of the original Torah text.
